Gujarat to get AIIMS soon

Union Health Minister J P Nadda said that Gujarat is going to get an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) soon. Although Mr. Nadda did not clarify which city of the state will get the institution, he said that the procedure of evaluation has already begun. Gujarat Government has shortlisted Vadodara and Rajkot as 2 probable cities for the AIIMS project.

In the budget speech, Finance minister, Arun Jaitley, had announced that Gujarat and Jharkahand will get one AIIMS each. Nadda along with Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was in Rajkot recently to lay the foundation stone for rs. 150 crore super speciality hospital to be built under the "Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna". Nadda also added that around 86 super speciality hospital are being built across the country as a part of the scheme.
