AFCAT 2017 Notification

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the AFCAT 2017 examination date. The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) will be held on 26 February (Sunday). The application process for the same is already in progress from 3 December and will continue till 29 December, 2016. The AFCAT exam is conducted twice a year, once in February and another in September to select officers in various branches of the force.

AFCAT Posts and Eligibility Criteria

1. Flying Branch

  • Must be a graduate from a recognized University or Institute with minimum 60% marks in graduation
  • Must have passed +2 with Maths and Physics as subjects or
  • Must have completed B.Tech or B.E. with minimum 60% marks
  • Must be between 20-24 years of age as of 1 January, 2018.
  • Must have a minimum height of 162.5 cm and 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in another

2. Technical Branch

  • Must have a 4 years degree qualification and have cleared section A and B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks
  • Age must be between 20-26 years as of 1 January, 2018
  • Minimum height for men should be 157.5 cm and for women 152 cm

3. Ground Duty Branch

  • Must be a graduate with minimum 60% marks or equivalent or must have cleared section A and B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks for administration and logistics posts or
  • Must have completed b.Com with 605 marks for Accounts post or
  • Post graduate with at least 50% marks for Education posts
  • Age limit must be between 20-26 years as on 1 January, 2018.
