Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law - IIT Kharagpur - LL.B program 2014
Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) is the first law school by an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Kharagpur) and it imparts legal education with IP bringing together science, technology, management and law. RGSOIPL offers a Six-Semester, 3 year full-time residential programme leading to a degree of Bachelor of Law (Hons) (LL.B) in Intellectual Property Law approved by the Bar Council of India.
It was set up in 2006 and is the only law school in the country functioning under the IIT system, located within the campus of IIT Kharagpur.
LL.B. (Hons) in Intellectual Property Rights
The curricula of the programme - LL.B. (Hons) in Intellectual Property Rights has been prepared according to the requirements of the Bar Council of India. In addition, several specialised courses in law and Intellectual Property Rights are offered.

Interested candidates must fulfil any of the following criteria to be eligible to apply:
- First Class Bachelors Degree in Engineering (B.E.)/ Technology (B.Tech.) / Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent.
- First Class Masters Degree in Science (M.Sc) or Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) or equivalent.
- First Class MBA Degree with any of the above
Admission will be a two-step process:
1) Take either of the following tests:
- All India Entrance Examination (by IIT Kharagpur)
- LSAT India
- LSAT Global
The All India Entrance Examination will be conducted by RGSOIPL on 13 April, 2014. Candidates who appear for LSAT-India 2014 don't need to appear for the above-mentioned All India written test. Such candidates will be shortlisted for the GD/PI on the basis of their percentile ranks in the LSAT-India 2014. The candidates must mention their LSAT-India Registration number clearly in the appropriate box in the On-Line Application Form for RGSOIPL, IIT Kharagpur. RGSOIPL will access LSAT-India scores directly from LSAT-India.
Candidates with valid LSAT scores (after taking the global LSAT exam) are also exempted from the All India written test. Such candidates must provide their Law School Admission Council (LSAC) account number in the appropriate box while completing the On-Line Application Form. RGSOIPL, IIT Kharagpur will obtain LSAT scores directly from the LSAC. The LSAC account number is the letter "L" followed by 8 digits. 2) Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI): GD and PI sessions will be conducted for candidates who are shortlisted through any of these entrance exams. These sessions would be conducted at:

The hard copy of the online form must be accompanied by a draft payment (application fee to be paid only through demand draft.) The DD should be drawn in favour of "IIT Kharagpur " payable at Kharagpur.
- Rs. 1000 for general and OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates
- Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PD candidates
- Women candidates don't need to pay any application fees.
The All India Entrance Examination would be conducted in Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Bombay.
The All India Entrance Examination would be for 200 marks and comprise of the following sections:
English - 40 marks.
Logical Reasoning - 20 marks
Mathematical Ability - 15 marks
Basic Science (Chemistry, Physics, Life Science) - 35 marks
Legal Aptitude - 60 marks
Essay - 30 marks
